Minister to Children & Families

Lisa Baker, Minister to Children & Families

wfbc-lisa-baker-1Lisa and her husband, A.P., have called Wake Forest home for over 23 years.  They have a daughter, Payton, who is attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a son, Price, who attends Wake Forest High school. Their family is complete thanks to "Ziggi", their seven year old Golden Retriever. Lisa has spent her adult life working with children.  Prior to working in ministry, she served as an elementary school educator for nine years.  She has a heart for mission work, loves a day on the beach, a summer weekend on the boat, and spends her free time sitting on a ball field of some sort watching her kids play sports.
"I am blessed…I have the incredible job of teaching children about God and the priceless gift of His love!  Paul, in Romans 12: 4-8, speaks to us about using the gifts that God has blessed us with through His divine grace.  My God-given gift is the ability to love and teach God’s precious children.  I am humbled to be used as a vessel for instilling God’s Holy Word into the lives of His children and to be a part of their spiritual development.   I believe it is the responsibility of the church to share God’s love with the children through teaching them the foundational Bible stories that are instrumental in developing their faith, but also through ministering to each child and his/her family.  As a church community, we are instructed to “Train up a child in the way he should go…” with a promise that “…even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

It is essential that the church exemplify Christ’s love and mercy to its children while also modeling how to go out in this world and share the love of Christ with others…to “BE…His Hands, His Heart, and His voice!”  It is equally my blessing to work with the families of God’s precious children…to pray with them, teach them, counsel them, and walk hand in hand with them as together, we raise OUR children to be children with a living faith!  It is my joy to live out my calling by being a part of a child’s spiritual journey while equipping others to serve their God through touching the life of a child."

Be His,

Lisa Baker
