Rev. Mary Langley

Working and ministering with children and families as they navigate life's journey while growing in their relationship with God is a passion of mine.  Partnering with parents to integrate faith at home helps to enhance children's spiritual growth and strengthen family ties.  Children's Ministry serves children, parents and the entire faith community.  It is a blend of providing learning and service opportunities for children related to our faith, providing tools for parents to use with their children and providing for intergenerational experiences that grow relationships within the fellowship of believers.

I am excited about joining with you and living out the mission to which God has called Wake Forest Baptist Church.

Mary brings a wealth of experience in children and family ministry, having served churches in Virginia and North Carolina.  In addition to serving on a local church staff, she has worked churches as a consultant for both the Virginia Baptist Mission Board and the Raleigh Baptist Association.

Mary is a graduate from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor of Science degree and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Christian Education degree.  She was ordained at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem in 1994.  She has been married to Mike for 27 years.  They are blessed with two daughters, Rachel, age 21, a senior at Wake Forest University, and Michaela, 18, a freshman at Ithaca College.   Ollie, a terrier/shihtzu dog, joined the family in 2016.

In her spare time Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, crocheting, reading and daily walks with Ollie.  Some of her favorite authors are Dr. Seuss, Priscilla Shirer, Mark Batterson and Max Lucado.
