Pastor Kim studied and completed his B.A. degree and M. Div (Master of Divinity) at Korea Baptist Theological University and Seminary in 1994 and 1997, and in 2015, he got his Doctor of Educational Ministry degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (D. EdMin) in Kansas City, Missouri. The very first church that he served at as a senior pastor was the church he built in Jeonju, South Korea called “Jeonju Eden Baptist Church and he was there for about 12 years, and then he moved to the States with his family to serve at Korean Baptist Church of Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN. He was at KFBCC for about five years.

Pastor Kim and his wife, Mrs. Kim, have one daughter and two sons. His wife, Mrs. Kim, got a music degree in college and has been playing Piano every Sunday, his daughter, Christine, serves as a violin player, and his two sons, David and Daniel, also plays music (clarinet) at Pastor Kim’s church every Sunday. Pastor Kim’s family always tries to do their best to share everything that they think are gifts from our father God with his church and community and his family does it by sharing their musical talents every Sunday.

Pastor Kim says that he currently has three treasures. The first one is Psalm 73:25 ‘Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.’ The second treasure that he says he has is Hymn #384 “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” and his last treasure is the prayer room at Wake Forest Baptist Church. He always loves spending his time there praying for hours.

Pastor Kim always hopes for everybody to become owners of the treasures that God gives us and spread the message of Jesus Christ together.
