Disaster Relief Ministry

WFBC is putting together teams trained to respond to natural disasters both at home and abroad.
Disaster relief teams are broken into three areas: All three disaster relief teams are open to participation by men and women who are interested in serving in this capacity. If you are considering being a part of one of these teams, please complete the Disaster Relief Survey Form and return it to Neal Peyton or return it to the church office. This form does not obligate you to serve, it simply allows us to know who is interested.

For further information about the disaster relief ministry, please contact Neal Peyton, Disaster Relief Team Leader.

Local Disaster Relief

This team covers natural disasters that happen in our community or the immediate surrounding areas. In the event of a disaster, this team will work to cover damage roofs, clean-up debris, and provide transportation for those needing medical assistance or food and supplies.

This team also has a list of at-risk individuals (people living alone, those with special needs, etc), who will be personally contacted in the event that a local disaster occurs. WFBC will also gladly serve members of the community that are not affiliated with WFBC, but are in need of such services. Please contact Neal Peyton if you would like to have an individual added to the list.

NC Baptist State Convention / NC Baptist Men First Responder

This area of disaster relief includes training to be part of a team handling mass feeding, recovery (clearing debris, etc.), child care, or water purification in the event of an emergency.

Contact Neal Peyton for registration or information.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Follow-Up

CBF does not have the capability to provide first-responder services at this time. Their focus is on partnering with churches who will do additional recovery (debris clean up, emergency temporary home repair) and follow-up services after the first-responder teams.
