One thing that is very special to me at this time in our family's life is seeing our son, happy, healthy and strong in the Lord, leave for college with the heritage of some of the finest men and women, who have loved him to adulthood. When I pause to watch him, and listen to him, and to admire him, I am so aware of my deep appreciation for a church family, that formed him for a faithful life. Particularly, the men in Ryan's life who modeled the roles of a Christian man, father, husband, and neighbor, and who unashamedly loved him and told him so. Because of this church, my son is grounded in faith, in hope, and in the deep love of God.

Discipleship

Sunday School teaches the stories of the Bible and how they apply to our lives today. It meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. for one hour year round. Classes are located in our Education Building and are provided for Grades 7-12. CLICK HERE for listing of classes, teachers, and room numbers.

Spring/Fall Youth Retreats spring and fall retreats are Biblically-focused weekends built around a particular theme. They are usually held at Caswell or in a mountain retreat atmosphere. These weekends have a strong spiritual focus to them, and are designed specifically to get the youth thinking about their commitment to Christ.

Disciple Now Disciple Now is a themed spiritual renewal weekend designed to promote small group bonding and greater spiritual depth. Youth stay in small groups (age and gender specific) at host homes for a weekend, and are mentored by college/seminary students. The weekend culminates with the youth teaching a Sunday School lesson to the rest of the church about what they have learned, followed by the youth conducting the Sunday worship services. This powerful weekend is usually held between February and April.

Summer Caswell Trip The Caswell experience gives the youth a wonderful praise and worship environment, which is very focused on discipleship and a relationship with Christ. Each summer, our youth program alternates between spending an evangelical/discipleship week at Caswell and taking a mission trip to a selected location.

For more information about any of these discipleship opportunities, contact Minister of Youth and Missions, Les Burleson.
