Deaf Ministry

The Deaf Ministry Team supports the deaf members of our church and community.  The vision of deaf ministries is to reach out to all deaf people, to share the gospel, and to provide opportunities for spiritual growth for the deaf community.  Opportunities  include a Deaf Sunday School Class, Sign Language Interpreted Services, Wednesday Evening Bible Study, Socials Opportunities, Sign Language Classes, and Annual Deaf Emphasis.

Deaf Sunday School Class - The deaf Sunday School Class Uses a DVD in Sign Language and materials specifically for the Deaf distributed by Lifeway. The class is open to deaf of all ages.

Sign Language Interpreted Services - Interpreters are here to serve during Sunday School, Worship Services, and Wednesday evening programs every week.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study - Wednesday evening Bible Study is lead by Neal Peyton.

Off Premises Bible Study - Bible Study for the deaf is lead by Henrietta Castles at The Oliver House.

Socials and Other Opportunities - Socials for the deaf and their families are planned periodically.

Sign Language Classes - Sign language classes (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) are offered periodically so that more and more members of our church, hearing and non-hearing, may be included in the deaf ministry. Dates, times, and details for future classes will be announced. Any interested individuals are encouraged to attend.

Deaf Revival - A deaf revival is held each year for the deaf of WFBC as well as greater deaf community.
