David Fitzgerald
David is the “new kid on the block” at WFBC, having begun his ministry here in March of 2007. He says, “The things that drew me to WFBC were the incredibly caring and supportive staff and church family. I believe they are a model of excellence for teamwork and ministry.”
David has a passion for equipping persons of all ages to discover and utilize their musical and creative gifts to serve God and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. He also has a love for music missions, and has helped organize and direct youth music-mission trips throughout the years.
Be around David for a short period of time, and you will know that he has an intense enthusiasm for handbells. He has been a guest clinician/conductor for many state and local handbell festivals, conferences, and workshops. His wife, Martha, calls him a true “ding-a-ling.”
David calls Martha “mother extraordinaire,” “the love of his life,” and “his partner in ministry.” They have been married for 22 years. Martha has taught preschool and special needs children, and now teaches 3rd Grade at Jones Dairy Elementary School.
David and Martha have four talented children: Adam, Joel, Emily, and Zac. Adam is attending college in Virginia, in addition to managing a Staples store. Joel and Emily attend Wake Forest Rolesville High School, and Zac is in 3rd Grade at Jones Dairy Elementary.
