Mark has a love for the Lord, and he loves to share this love with everyone he meets. He is a “people person,” which makes him ideally-suited to be our Minister of Outreach.

Mark is also ideally-suited to be a loving husband to his wife, Jodi, and father to their three boys: Matthew, Jonathan, and Patrick. Jodi is employed as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Wake Med Hospital, and is very involved with the youth group at WFBC. She is truly Mark’s partner in ministry. They have been married for 17 years. Matthew is a sophomore at Wakefield High School, Jonathan is an eighth grader at Durant Road Middle School, and Patrick is a 5th grader at Durant Road Elementary School.

Mark enjoys sports, and is always ready to talk about the latest game and his beloved Tarheels and Redskins. He is also always ready to welcome guests and new members into our church family.

Mark, a native of Roanoke, Virginia, graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (2000) with a Master of Divinity degree. He also holds a B.S. in Marketing from Radford University (1987). Prior to joining the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Church in January 2006, Mark served as Associate Pastor of Outreach & Administration at Huguenot Road Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. Prior to Mark’s call into the ministry, he worked for 10 years in the business world as a Marketing Specialist.
